hard core chilli folks, are hard core,

i played there party at the ljt festeval on friday night, the bad weather forced us all into a camper, but the show still went on, i don't think i could handle more than a couple of days of that stuff, all day drinking, walking miles in the mud, sleeping in the van, i must add slept rather nice...

me and hooker finally found the van sometime between 4 and 5 saturday morning and crashed for a few hours

but we did see mcclure and his boys and they rocked

last night we limped in to t-bones and played a stripped down version inside in the corner, due to the weather, but i think it sounded very cool, kind of a different sound for us, it was a lot fun

today is nap day

well it's been awhile, i been real busy again, making calls, playing gigs, working on art work, changing diapers, reading books (the farm house, i read it like....10 times a day), oh yea the newest development around my pad, is the word outside is not to be said, or abe taylor flips smooth out, i repeat, don't say the word outside, unless your ready to go there,

played dillions sometime last week, and had a killer time, i love those crowds all up in your face like that, we appreciate it

friday we were back at woody's in ft. worth, that was the joint that inspired my tune called ft. worth,

the road is hard
and the drive is long

sat. we played the elks lodge here in paris, my good friend renee coston turned the big 30, and we partied down, seen lots of old friends, classmates, goodtimes

got to go
the kid's coming down the hall

what's up yall,

been a lazy day, 1 walked in the back door around 6am this morning, that's the reason

played a private party for my buddy "sweet" willie payne, and all his hardcore chili friends, it was very cool, had a hog in the ground, and lots of music lovers,

"the gremlin" a true character,( and sweet willie's best friend, they met in jail several years ago) kept bringing me gifts out of willie's house, turns out that they were gifts that he had given to willie in the past, and now he decided to give them to me,

1. a real nice paper towel holder, all metal and the top pops off so you can replace the towels, horseshoes on the bottom, and the top that pops off is the shape of texas

2. a copy of an old arrest warrant/wanted poster for tom nixon, from 1877, i think it's cool how they worded stuff back then, here's what part of the poster read...

"alias tom barnes, five feet seven or eight inches high, 145 to 150 lbs. weight, 25 years of age, blue-grey eyes, light hair and whiskers; beard not heavy or long; mustache older and longer than beard." the gremlin just took this off willie's wall and give it to me

3. a football

4. the program for this years ljt festival

but in return, i gave the gremlin a copy of honky tonk heros, that's the book about billy joe shaver, my friend casey cainan gave it to me, and told me to pass it on, and i feel really good to know that i did my part by passing it on, and i honestly believe it will be passed on again.

friday night we played a battle of the bands at the crosswire, met some cool cats from www.south40band.com

overall we had a real nice weekend,

see ya soon
i hope

mowed the yard today...well half of it, i just could'nt get in the mood, i tried, i thought mowing the first half would put me in the mood for the second half, but no, it didn't

played hanks last night, it has turned into my favorite gig, great staff, cool sound man, and always a good crowd, that listens and buys merch, we appreciate it

good to see my friends kevin and mike, it's been awhile, it seems

and thank you stew, you always bring out a table full of people

me and abe taylor were sitting around the house playing our guitars saturday afternoon, when my old buddy cody bowen stopped by...he made abe cry

then me and bodine rode around blossom checking on old friends, and telling some of our old stories to each other, we had so much fun, i made him go to mckinney with us

and on the way home, the band is in the back watching ted burgundy, and bodine's riding shotgun, so i'm looking forward to so more visiting with my old buddy, we lived together about 4 years and had many good times, since then we've both (grown up) and hardly ever see each other, so bodine gets a big dip of snuff...next thing i know, he's snoring

friday night i played to a very tenative crowd in honey grove, they had me sign a poster to hang on the wall, the sound was killer, then me and hooker came back home, nothin like quality time with friends,

goodnight
