abe taylor is one year old tomorrow,

fast year, maybe the fastest i've ever been in,

gonna have a big party for him sunday, i think he's getting fired up about it,

thursday night we need you at adairs, this is our thursday test, to see if we can become a thursday band, so come on out thursday if you can

friday night it's dillions, with our pals, miles from nowhere, come early for a seat, or just come late like everybody else and walk around all night, we play first this time, about 10 ish

then on saturday, it's off to the historic www.waresvillehalle.com , the coolest gig i've ever played, this will be my 5th or 6th time to play there, but this is the first time that the boys have been with me, and the first time that we've been the main act, this is a serious music venue, catering to the songs and what they mean and what they stand for, if you hate loud smoky bars, then bring your butts to greenville sat. at 7:00, a lawn chair and your choice of beverage, you will not regret it, i promise

got home about 6 this morning

we got the best bus driver you could have, he don't drink, so we always have a safe ride home....
but he can sure miss a turn and go a few miles before he shares it with anybody, we left burelson about 2:30, made one stop...somewhere, for some gas, and we rolled in p-town about 6am...yea about 6


thank you crissy for coming out and yelling with every tune, made us feel like somebody cared,

poney boy fixed the vcr on the way home, see we been riding around the last several months with no tv in the van because i tried to hook up a dvd player, but the spaces were to small and i couldn't get my hand in there, so we had nothing, and i been getting talked about and looked at funny for miles, (mainly by lp) so the kid with the small wrists saves the day, took him about 20 minutes...i could have done it but i didn't fancy standing there in a bind like that for 20 minutes,

the site was down briefly yesterday, what.. you didn't even notice,

i put my boy trent on the problem, and now we can get on with business


piling into charles tomorrow, heading to burleson tx, to the overtime bar, i played a solo show there awhile back and the place was packed out, some dude named bleu was playing after me, probably had something to do with it,

never the less, if your in the area, or just feel like driving, come on out

3 good shows in a row, feels great

lindsey is starting to know the tunes, i even caught him singing along a few times

last night at hanks, great fun as usual, crowd was a little small, but they were diggin on us...i could tell

poor lp, not only was he fighting off the flu, but his 9 volt went dead in the middle of the first set, then in the second set he blows a string, just so happen he didn't bring his back up (don't ask me why) but the boy still slaps that bass like no other, and he made a fine recovery


yesterday before we hit the road, i went to pick lindsey up at the animal house he crashes at, there was 5 empty bud light cases at the front door, 3 or 4 bodies laying around, and there on the end of the couch sits the kid, wearing the same thing he had on the last 2 days when i picked him up, but he had this gleam in his eye, you see he's made a couple hundred bucks playing with me the last 2 nights, so he went to hastings and drops about 60 on new cds, and he's telling me all about them, and in his back pocket i notice 30 bucks worth of new drum sticks, because he broke all he had the night before

hey hey, my my, it's been a long time,
been super busy, playing, working, and when i'm not doing that, then we have to practice, got to get the new kid in shape...i must say he his catching on, rather nicely

we've been lots of places since my last blog, i can't even remember them all,

i do remember a cool little acoustic gig me and eric did a few weeks ago at love and war, i mean acoustic, we unplugged our guitars and just sang like hell to the packed house, pretty cool

had a lot of my old friends come out to a show we played at the xwire, it's always good to see the old friends, Jeremy Lincoln

i talked to mcclure yesterday, and instead of going down to cedar creek in austin, we will be recording at awesomeworks studio in holland, that's where we did the dark side

and that means that ol steve palousek can lay down some steel or do bro, if need be

last night was packed at dillions, it looked like a new years eve show, thanks to all the folks that came out, seen my old buddy cody bowen, that explains the throbbing in my head, we were trying to catch up

oh yea i almost forgot, we played the 3 dog tavern in ennis on thursday night, and it's a very cool gig, mr chad uptergraft runs the joint, and we see eye to eye on the music thing for sure, cool dude, we're going back on st. pattys day

ok, those of you that know me, know that i'm not big on belly aching or complaining, and i'm always preaching to the boys to be positive...but

if i knew the name of gary p's drummer i would for sure plug it now

the guy shows up late and asks lindsey if he can play his kit, because his kit is not gig ready, (yet this guy is a hired gun, killer drummer, driving up from austin) so lindsey being the good ol boy he is, says no problem

now we were gonna hit the road shortly after we played so we could get home at a descent time, but now we will be there to the end

ok, the gigs over and now it's time to split, but the van is dead, seems like we left an interior light on, so i'm walking back to the bar to get someone to give me a boost, and i see the drummer, he says to me "man that's a great kit, thanks for letting me play it" i say " no problem, we enjoyed the show, hey man can you give ua a boost real quick, the vans dead"

dude says to me, without looking me in my eyes, " man i'm in a big hurry, i got to drive back to austin tonight" then i had a few more things to say that i won't post

anyway

last night was another great time over t-bones, mike t runs a top notch bar, it was one of those times when the show was over, eric says to me, give me the keys,i appreciate that

we finally did it,
played adairs last night...and we got home before 4 am

i walked in the house at 3:38, i knew we could do it,

good times at adairs last night, very listening friendly crowd, seen several friends, and made a few new ones,

met chad uptergraft, he runs the 3 dog tavern in ennis, looks like the mob will be headin down that way once a month for the next 3 months, and hopefully several more after that
