hello you, we had us a good weekend

no gig friday, then 2 on sat.

the 1st of which was on the sqare here in paris, 45 min. set for some pretty good bread ($)
thank you jason browning for letting us in on such a deal

then last night was one of those nights,

i just glad we made it home in 1 piece

the hard core chili crowd throws one hell of a party

1100 springs was there, and aaron came up and set in on steel guitar for a few tunes with us...that was cool...matt the cat was supposed to be burt reynolds, but he looked more like mr. cater from welcome back cater, or what ever the name of that show was

eric and wayne and lane were dressed up as the blacked eyed peas, sure looked funny, kinda silly

maybe they should be prepared next year,

anyway thank you willie payne, joel, and big bob, we had a blast

today me and my old man and casey rode the van to mineola, where i played a solo benefit for hurricane katrina, it was in the old select theater in downtown, and the sound was killer, the place was really cool, after every tune there was a few claps and then complete silence, i couldn't see anything from the stage, i did'nt know how many people were there or not there or what they were doing, i just new that light was bright and hot and the sound was killer,

thank you tony for the gig, and i hope i helped out a little

gonna be shooting a music video in the near future, i'll be working with the good folks at ch. 99 here in paris, ought to be a neat expierence

then sat. was one of those days

thanks to the camerons for the hospitality they showed me and the boys at there new home where we played a private party, then another thank you to shelly for driving those drunks out to the gig at hanks later that night...well maybe they wern't drunks when you drove'em to the gig, but i know one that was when he left...hey kevin...you gotta watch ol lane

hanks was killer,

i finally got me a full dose of the entertainer himself

john pittman

one of the best if not the best musician i have ever stood on stage with,
thank you john for the good time, and there will be more to come

sunday night we played a cool little bar out in the woods just 10 miles from paris

camp shagbark

i had heard about the place for years, but i knew they mostly catered to blues, instead of our stuff, but me and the boys did about 45 min. of the best stuff we had and i think we won a few folks over, and i for one fell in love with the place, i met the owner mr horrace penn, and looks like we might be heading back out that way real soon

this week we will be at dillions on wed night
on the square here in paris on sat. at 12:30
then we hop in charles and head for sanger tx, to play another private party later that night
Sunday i'll be playing solo at the select theater in mineola

what's up yall

had us a late one last night, before i go any futher i must say thank you to my boy charlie caffey, he delivered the mob safely home about 7:00 this morning, and if your reading this and you know charlie your probably saying what the hell... yeah it's the truth, my boy sucked it up, ex- truck driving man, he can do that kind of stuff.

charlie says, that somebody says:

keep the bugs off your glass
and the smokies off your ass,
don't do anything i wouldn't do,
and if you do,
don't call me, i'll call you

texas nights in waco will be a killer live music venue when the word gets out, it's only been around a couple of months, fire pits, cheap beer, a very cool staff, thank you justin and roger for the hospitality me and the boys do appreciate it, and we will be back...for now on...if you allow us

gonna do it all again in a couple of hours, heading over to commerce to play the hang out for the first time, easy drive, and the trailers already loaded or shall i say still loaded.

if you get a chance check out www.misslana.com there is a cool review of the darkside

some dude named mitch at a burger king in dallas hooked us up on some grub about 4 this morning, i think,

we placed the order
he looks around
he pops off this price
in even dollar amounts
he slides us the grub
we slide him the cash
register never opens

mitch thought we were the dave mathews band

come see us if you can, tell somebody you love em, and go listen to a johnny cash record,

9 days and no post, i apologize

what has happened

the boy's got one and half teeth, and instead of crawling forward, he scoots backwards,

we had 2 good gigs last week, thursday we played love and war in plano, and even though we had a little cool weather, we had a crowd that was just as cool, thank you guys for coming out

saturday night we played here at home for the first time in awhile and i seen a bunch of old friends i haven't seen in awhile, ended in a big jam session, sing along, ...love that elks lodge, get outa here old people, and bring on the drunks

this week (friday to be exact) me and the boys are loading up for waco, texas nights is the name of the joint, it's our first time in her, but i got a good vibe, maybe i can talk the old man in driving charles, if not then we might playing the night by ear...drive home...i doubt it...motel room...big dip in the earnings...roadside park...hmm...that reminds me

the road is hard, the drive is tuff

congrats to my dear friends chad and kerry posey, for their new baby boy

tucker james posey...

in 16 years you might hear this

"taylor oneal is back to pass, he steps left, he steps right, he launches it down field,

touchdown , what a catch by tucker posey

friday night we played t-bones over in denison, and had grand old time, old mike t and cory got a cool thing going on over there, we're just proud to be part of it

sat. we limped on in to l&w at grapevine, after changing a bad tire on the way, we a had great time as usual, good to see george and arron and donna and their crew, we appreciate it

bad news:
the benefit at gillieys with the stragglers and no justice and 1100 and a mess of other bands, including us, has been canceled...damn it, but thanks anyway jake

good news:
i got wind threw the grapevine (ironically at grapevine) that billy joe shaver has heard of me, i thought that was some kind of cool, it put a big ol smile on my face

love and war in plano texas on thursday, with our friends grant winscour and the infedels, then sat we will be here in paris at the elks lodge, for a big texas- ou bash,
