what's up yall

a couple of times in my life i have found myself addicted to a song, this is one of those times,

since i climbed up in charles after the gig last saturday night, i have been stuck on
track # 9
of
fred eaglesmith's
record called "balin"

the name of the tune is
"the rocket"
and i think it's one of the best tunes i've ever heard,
i've been hittin repeat every since saturday night,

songs like this
make me want to burn my guitar,

playing the x-wire friday night, it's always fun to spread out on a big stage,
saturday we'll be diving in mt. vernon at the players club, last time we were there, they stopped the show for a bikini contest, and we got heckled all night by some dude that kept hollering
"play some country"

looking forward to that

abe taylor gave me my first kiss tonight,

he opens his mouth up wide,
and comes crashing in,

it's pretty cool,

see ya friday or saturday

son, could you help me on this platform
i'm not so good at climbing stairs
i brought me a drink and some sandwiches
i just want to sit and watch the trains

i come down here almost every sunday
my grandkids, they used to come too
now they drop me off at the front gate
i guess that they got better things to do

number 47 she's a good one
number 63 sings like a bird
but number 29 that's the one they call the rocket
that's the saddest train i ever heard

son, i'm a decorated veteran
i fought in what they called the great war
i used to believe in everything it stood for
i don't believe in much anymore

son, you look just like my boy
he stood here almost forty years today
he looked so good in that brand new soldiers uniform
but that rocket never brought him back again

number 47 she's a good one
number 63 sings like a bird
but number 29 that's the one they call the rocket
that's the saddest train i ever heard

later
mo
